Update: Incident in Shaw

The incident in Shaw came to a safe conclusion at around 5.00am this morning (26/07/2017).

The hostage is safe and the suspect in custody. A cordon remains in place around the properties whilst a search of the property takes place.

The job for today will be returning people home and working with partners and the community to ensure we are aware of any issues. The gas supply should start to be restored during the course of the day.

Thanks once again to the emergency services, officers from Oldham Council, housing providers, local businesses and many more that offered support to local residents.
